IRAB-QSA recognizes training completed with training providers who held/hold certification with us under our current name or previous trading names (RABQSA, QSA, RAB) for 10 years from the date the training was completed for our management system schemes, such as QMS, EMS, OHS, etc. Some of our schemes require that the training certificate to have been issued within the last three years. Please check the specific certification requirements for the scheme you wish to apply for. If your training was completed outside of the training requirement time, you will need to complete a relevant knowledge examination, if available.
If a knowledge examination is not available, you may substitute the knowledge exam with an audit log showing relevant audit experience. If you choose this method, we require that you show evidence of 10 audit days reflecting the specific scheme (e.g, QMS, EMS, OHS, etc.) and grade (i.e., auditor or lead auditor) you wish to apply for. Audits need to have been conducted within the past three years.

Yes! Our ISO 45001 OHS scheme is inclusive of the requirements of ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and AS/NZS 4801. Please note that OHSAS 18001 has been withdrawn. We expect that AS/NZS will be withdrawn soon.

All IRAB-QSA certified OHS 4801/18001 auditors who do not also hold an ISO 45001 OHS auditor certification are required to transition to the ISO 45001 OHS auditor scheme prior to March 2021. This is required because the OHS 4801/18001 auditor certification scheme was built on OHSAS 18001, a British standard that has been withdrawn and replaced by ISO 45001.
Organizations that are certified to OHSAS 18001 must transition to ISO 45001 by March 2021 if they want to maintain their OHS certification.
We are no longer accepting applications to the OHS 4801/18001 auditor certification scheme. Instead, please apply to the ISO 45001 OHS auditor scheme.
NOTE: Auditors who conduct audits to AS/NZS 4801 may do so with the IRAB-QSA ISO 45001 OHS auditor certification.
If you currently hold an IRAB-QSA OHS 4801/18001 certification, all you need to do is to complete the ISO 45001 Transition Assessment through ONE of the following paths by March 2021:
If in the event you have met either of the above, please forward your training certificate to irab-qsa.com
IRAB-QSA will then transition you to the ISO 45001 certification program and will transfer all your OHS: Dates/ Grade/ Scopes across to the ISO 45001 OHS certification program and your current OHS certification will be closed out.
Once your application has been transferred, you will be notified to retrieve your e-certificate via your online portal and a new ISO 45001 ID card will be posted to you.
